Polish cameras of pre-WW II era
“There was a rapid development of the optical industry, after liberation of Poland from the thralldom of the occupant, and the seizure of power by the working class”
This phrase comes from the introduction to certain, otherwise interesting book. In fact, the situation was quite different. In various time periods - until the outbreak of the Second World War in Poland, there were dozens of operational factories that produced photographic equipment, definitely more than after World War II. The number of different models of cameras and photographic lenses far exceeds the number of cameras produced after the war. Unfortunately only few exhibits still remain, primarily (and almost exclusively) cameras and lenses that were mass produced.
